The activities linked to the fishing activity allow to think about the obtaining of local
added values, on the basis of canning, drying, smoking, extracts and flours with markets in
Continental Chile and overseas.
It is also possible to hold a port for the support of foreign fishing fleets in this island. They
abound in waters of these latitudes and they do not have a port for their repairs, supplying,
deposits and other services that they can require.
In this sense, and simultaneously to lower the price of the cost of local life, it is necessary
to think about the establishment of a “Free Port” or “Duty Free Area” in this Fishing Island.
The implementation of the fishing activity and its linked activities must be carefully located
in the island to avoid the pollution that it can cause to the other islands in the olfactory
aspect, in the visual aspect and because of its remainders.
The fresh water resource is very important for this activity but the sea water is suitable in all
the aspects for washing and cleaning with just a partial treatment of its salinity.
Anyway, it is basic to look for some renewable power resources to allow a suitable
development of the economic activity of the island without depending on the high costs of
petroleum. In this field, we believe it is advisable to prospect the Solar Energy, the Aeolian
Energy and the Energy of the Waves, without denying the possibility of exhausting all the
chances of detecting the existence of fossil resources and of looking for possibilities of
hydraulic, bioenergetics and geothermal energy.
Suitably located, each activity of this Fishing Island, without damaging the beauty and the
landscape of the island, nor contaminating the life of its permanent and floating inhabitants,
can provide, in addition to an important number of primary and secondary workplaces, a
set of new tourist resources through its creeks and its colorful activity at the edge of the sea,
artisan activity, and culinary activities.
The authority that administers this islandmust, as the other six islands, respect the common
agreements that are for the well-being of all of them and find together the solution for the
problems in which they are total or partially involved.
5.- Farming And Forest Island
The exploitation of the firewood and the wood as the only historical fuel, along with the
increase in the population during the 16

centuries and the cultural decay of
the 19

century, that is completed with the exploitation of the sheep and the horse during
the current century [20

wind, 90% of the soils of the island.
The Farming And Forest Island has now no trees, shrubs and great grass. Torrential rains
wash and wash the cover of the soil, the water is not retained, the evaporation quickly
transforms the soil into dust and the strong winds scatter it in the air and the sea
Surely the humidity has diminished at the ground level, no climatic complaints because of
the vegetation that no longer exists are made, and the few water springs that originally seem
