Suitability and sellSitivity are evaluated, weighed and determi·
ned through the Delphi process during which participants from the
power company, interested agencies, technical people, and, in some
cases, the public, express their opinions regarding the importance
of each factor studied and decide what the weighted influence of
each factor should have on the acceptability of each site. As can
be imagined, concensus cannot be achieved the first time around
and many iteratÍons of the process are quite often necessary. The

esult is a number of acceptable candidate sites which are then
5wdied in more detail as described above.
