Length varying from lhrce to four inchcs. Dcad shells have bcen found on the coasts of Sussex, Dor- setshirc, all(I Dcvonshirc. Lcnglh not quite half an inch; brcadth an cighth ancl a half. This may be clistinguishecl from the S. I/aliotoidcs hy its reclclish horn colour, in the spire haYing bnt onc Yolution, the inílcclion of the inuer lip beiug only about half the brcaclth, by the base of the apcrlurc bcing more acule, ancl in the wrinklcs being much stronger.
