En este contexto, el 9 de enero de 2023, Chile y Colombia presentaron de forma conjunta una Solicitud a la Corte IDH para obtener una opinión consultiva que “aclare el alcance de las obligaciones de los Estados […] para responder a la emergencia climática en el marco del derecho internacional de los derechos humanos” 182 . La Solicitud destacó la relevancia de los procedimien- tos más allá de las Américas, posiblemente basándose en el carácter emblemático de la Opinión Consultiva 23/17 de la Corte 183 .
