Natural Networks, Cultural Networks: Links Between Natural and Cultural Heritage in the Malacological Section of the Neruda Collection Nathaly Calderón M. 15 "It’s not the last wave with its salty weight that pulverizes coasts and produces the sandy peace that envelops the world: it’s the central volume of force, the extended potency of waters, the motionless solitude brimming with life. Time, perhaps, or accumulated cup of all movement, pure unity unsealed by death, green gut of the burning totality." Pablo Neruda, "The Great Ocean" Canto General, 1950 T he Malacological Section of the Neruda Collection is a vast and valuable patrimonial ensemble cared for by Universidad de Chile’s Archivo Central Andrés Bello. As we previously mentioned, during the speech he gave while handing over this legacy, Pablo Neruda himself stated his intention of retributing everything the Chilean people had given him through all of his life 16 . This means this collection is also a part of Chile’s heritage. [15] Nathaly Calderón M.
