Through the specific case study of Lo Rojas Hill in Coronel, the research proposes the development of a resilient alluvial mitigation park to address hazards in vulnerable areas. The analogue models employed in this study have demonstrated the efficacy of targeted interventions in reducing landslide runout and mitigating the impact of hypothetical landslides. Our findings illustrate that the analogue experiments not only validate the effectiveness of the proposed mitigation measures but also offer practical insights into their application, and underscores the potential of well-designed mitigation strategies to enhance urban resilience. Volcanic debris avalanche (VDA) propagation mechanisms and dynamics: field evidence and analogue experiments. A tale of two the inherent limitations of analogue models, they provide valuable insights for urban planning and risk management. In light of these findings, there is a clear need for a comprehensive approach that integrates geological insights with multidisciplinary expertise. Collaboration among geologists, architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders is crucial for the development of resilient urban infrastructure and effective risk mitigation strategies. Future research should aim to refine the experimental setupandexplore additional variables andconfigurations. Testing different scenarios, including various triggers and lateral runout assessments, will enhance the accuracy and applicability of analogue models, leading to more robust strategies for managing natural hazards. volcanic debris avalanches.
