Proceedings of the 12th International INQUA meeting on paleoseismology, active tectonic and archaeoseismology
406 PATA Days 2024 with the relations after Wells and Coppersmith (1994). The slip rate has been fixed at 0.1 mm/y, maximum expected Mw is 6.2, b-value of 0.9 and shear modulus of 3.75 × 1011 dynes/cm2. The fault area is 127 km2 for Fault 10-Po2, Monferrato. We choose Mw 4.5 as minimum magnitude to fit the curves, as suggested by Melissianos and Vamvatsikos (2020 ). From these parameters, with the aim to perform the PFDHA, we choose the appropriate reference equations in terms of Probability of occurrence of surface faulting (EQ_Probability of Occurrence), Average Displacement ⃒ Magnitude (EQ_AD ⃒ M) and Displacement ⃒ Average Displacement (EQ_D ⃒ AD). For the Fault 10-Po2, Monferrato, we select the equations proposed by Moss and Ross (2011) and Pizza et al., (2023; only on reverse faults) in terms of probability of occurrence of surface faulting, Wells and Coppersmith (1993; only on reverse faults) for the EQ_ AD ⃒ M and Moss et al. (2022) for the EQ_D ⃒ AD. Fig. 2: Methodological workflow of this research, with the aim to calculate hazard curves in the two study areas. EQ_Probability of Occurrence SF= Probability of occurrence of surface faulting equation; EQ_AD | M= Average Displacement | Magnitude equation; EQ_D | AD Displacement | Average Displacement equation.
