Proceedings of the 12th International INQUA meeting on paleoseismology, active tectonic and archaeoseismology
364 PATA Days 2024 D ATA A N D M E T H O D S Themultibeamdata acquisitionwas collected aboard theR/VBaruna Jaya III through the EWIN JAGAPATI cruise in 2022, facilitated by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). The field data acquisitionwas carried out from24 to 26December 2022. We also utilized available earthquake data from Supendi et al. (2022) and the Pusgen catalog (PUSGEN, 2017). Those two earthquake data are relocated earthquake data. Thus, they are of good quality in terms of location. Available seismic reflection data from Silver et al. (1983) and Rahardiawan & Purwanto (2014) are also utilized in this study. Fault identification from multibeam bathymetry and seismic sectionwas conducted to identify the Kalaotoa Fault that generated 14 December 2021 7.4Mw earthquake. Fig. 2 : Multibeam bathymetry data interpretation shows anticline and thrust faults and strike-slip faults in the southeastern area. Red lines are interpreted as Kalaotoa fault lines. The black lines depict thrust fault interpreted as part of the Flores Thrust system. R E S U LT A N D D I S C U S S I O N Despite the constraints of weather conditions and limited time, multibeam bathymetry data covering the area surrounding the main shock was successfully acquired. The acquired multibeam bathymetry data facilitated the identification of structural features in the vicinity of themain shock epicenter. Notably, an anticline and a fault scarp were discerned southeast of the epicenter. Additionally, evidence of cross-cutting relationships between the anticline and strike-slip faults was observed (Fig. 2). Although the western region of the epicenter was not extensively covered by the multibeam bathymetry, an east- west trending main fault was detected. Faults exhibited a change in direction from east-west to northwest-southeast in the southern region, suggesting a potential convergence with the Florest Thurst. Seismic sections, albeit exhibiting poor reflectors in deeper regions, revealed good reflectors in the upper section. Integration of these seismic sections with multibeam bathymetry data enabled
