Using data from the 2023 LiDAR, we measured the offset of canal as 85-100 cm (Fig. 7), along with an angular rotation that amounts to 75-80 cm of offset. With the angular rotation, the total offset may more closely be ~1.8 m which is more consistent with the 7.5 magnitude of the 1976 earthquake (Niemi et al., 2024). Electrical resistivity tomographic (ERT) data were collected along three lines across the 1976 earthquake rupture of the Motagua fault and parallel to two paleoseismic trenches at the Finca Los Limones site.
