Proceedings of the 12th International INQUA meeting on paleoseismology, active tectonic and archaeoseismology

170 PATA Days 2024 Finally, the longitudinal profiles of the Pliocene fluvial deposits (including KSG bearing the tektites) along the rivers Malše, Vltava and Stropnice were reconstructed (see Fig. 4). It was found that their profiles are significantly similar to the uppermost river terraces of the mentioned rivers, traditionally put to the Pliocene or the lowest Pleistocene (Novák, 1983). Therefore, it could be assumed that those sediments were not deposited by unnamed water streams, but by the predecessors of the current rivers of the study area – Malše, Vltava and Stropnice. Fig. 2: Basic geological situation of the study area and the results of tectonic analysis (more independent datasets are conforming = higher weight = more prominent linear indication or fault)
