La ciudad ceremonial de Orongo. Aquí habitaban durante un mes los hombres para esperar robar el huevo al pájaro que anida en el islote Moto Nui. Por eso todas las puertas de las viviendas se orientan al Moto Nui y al horizonte. Allí están los islotes donde anida el gaviotín y pone sus huevos en medio del mar. Hasta allí debían nadar los competidores en pos del huevo. Un pronunciado precipicio cae desde la aldea al mar. Por este plano vertical y rocoso bajan y retornan los nadadores. ¡Nada fácil!
