MÓDULO_ 01 Astronomía y Física 30 DEMOGRAPHICS OF EXOPLANETS AROUND M DWARFS ABSTRACT Planet detections through transits have become one of the most common and efficient methods to detect exoplanets in recent days. Missions like Kepler and Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) have been highly successful in detecting planets around G, K, M stars. M type stars, being the most abundant stars in the universe, are also more prone to hosting smaller and cooler planets, which makes it a good sample space to study the formation of such small planets. We have over 6000 exoplanet candidates waiting to be confirmed from TESS, which pushes the necessity for a robust complete pipeline to easily analyze, detect and confirm these new planets weeding out the false positives. Along with detecting planets, calculating occurrence rates of smaller planets around M dwarfs, will be an extension to the Kepler (M dwarf) planet population to the lower mass stars. The goal of the pipeline is to identify detections as well as non-detections of planets around these small active stars, which would help us understand the populations and to come up with an efficient signal to noise ratio for TESS planet detections and its occurrence rates. The current work being done towards this study is characterizing noises accompanied with TESS lightcurves, such as Combined Differential Photometric Precession (CDPP), which is helping us in obtaining a threshold signal to noise ratio for all planet detections within TESS lightcurves. We are looking forward to a complete pipeline along a robust detection efficiency model to characterize these upcoming planet populations, not only from TESS but from future missions, such as Roman and Plato, which is bound to detect another 6000+ exoplanets. 1 Department of Astronomy, University of Chile 2 Faculty of Engineering and Science, Adolfo Ibáñez University *Email: harshitha@das.uchile.cl HarshithaM.Parashivamurthy*, Gijs D.
