Migración internacional de enfermeras/os de América Latina 2010-2019

122 Migración internacional de enfermeras/os de América Latina 2010-2019 Americans, including nursing populations, to Canada. The nursing regulatory bodies within Canada should provide details and statistics about nurse migration; however, knowing the origin countries of these migrant nurses will not be possible due to Canada's privacy laws. This will continue to make it harder to find recorded data on the number of nurses migrating from Latin America to Canada. Canada is a prosperous nation with many available opportunities; it is imperative for Canada to im- prove immigration and employment policies and programs actively, especially for migrants, to en- sure that the country can handle the addition of more workers looking to lift themselves from their current conditions and, in turn, lift Canada's economy. Significant changes to current health policies that will improve global nursing practices that should be made include greater access to education programs, improving English-as-a-second-language programs, and standardizing transcripts to be accepted in all countries.
