A 50 años del inicio de la fonoaudiología en Chile: experiencias y desafíos actuales en salud pública
46 MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE OF A SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST TEAM IN A MAJOR ACUTE PUBLIC HOSPITAL Abstract The Chilean health system has undergone major transformations, which have modified elements of both the internal management of each institution and the way in which it relates to other establishments. This has favored the incorporation of speech and language therapist to high complexity hospitals and thus presented the discipline with the challenge of understanding the way in which these establishments are configured beyond the clinical aspects, considering elements related to management and administrative models. These new understandings allow and enhance the integration of Speech and Language Therapist to institutions belonging to the public health network. The purpose of this chapter is to review and make visible the experience of the speech therapy team at the Complejo Hospitalario San José (CHSJ) from the time of the entry of the first speech therapist to its current configuration, seeking to contribute to the process of integration of speech therapy in a high complexity hospital of the public health network through the analysis of the experience. Keywords: hospital management, speech and language therapist, systematization of experiences, team management.
