Background: The clinical performance, skills and competences of medi cal students in simulated scenarios can be assessed summatively and formatively by the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) and MINICEX (Mini Clinical Examination) at graduation. Objectives: To survey the main application characteristics of OSCE and MINICEX in medical graduation in simulated p e- diatric scenarios, in the process of acquiring clinical skills and competences. Methods: Systematic review of the main virtual databases of the literature b e- tween 2009 and 2021. Results: Most studies show that the methods are effective in determining the skills and competence acquisition process of medical st u- dents in pediatric settings. We found some difficulties in communication skills, different experiences of professionals and in the assessments of general pract i- tioners and specialists, which may lead to feedback bias and, thus, negatively interfere with the acquisition of skills. Conclusions: OSCE and MINICEX in simulated pediatric scenarios have positive and negative aspects in common in the acquisition of clinical skills and competences. It is necessary to expand r e- search on the subject in all disciplines, especially in pediatrics. Keywords: medical education, assessment, clinical competencies , clinical skills , pediatrics.
